We’re thrilled to share that QLC+, our beloved open-source lighting control software, has for a second time made its way to one of the most talked-about shows in the world - Netflix’s Squid Game Season 2!
This marks the second time QLC+ has been featured in the series.
We received many messages on our official Instagram account @qlcplus when fans of the series spotted QLC+ in action in Episode 6 at the 7:52 mark. The operator starts one of the games using what appears to be QLC+ running in full screen mode on an arcade machine.
It’s always fascinating to see how creative professionals incorporate QLC+ into unique applications like this!
This isn’t the first time QLC+ has been spotted in Squid Game. Forum user AndColla was the first to point out QLC+ in Season 1, Episode 7 back in 2021, where it made its debut as part of the show’s dramatic and immersive set design.
Seeing QLC+ featured in a global phenomenon like Squid Game is more than just a moment of pride for our team; it’s a celebration of the power of open-source software. From small productions to massive TV shows, QLC+ continues to prove that professional-grade tools can be accessible to everyone, everywhere.
We are going to try to reach out to the production team on Squid Game for comment. If you know anyone working there please put us in touch.
With QLC+ lighting up the world of entertainment, we’re more inspired than ever to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether you’re using QLC+ for a small production, a concert, or even the next viral show, we’re committed to making sure it’s the best tool for the job.
Let’s keep the momentum going—who knows where QLC+ will appear next? If you spot QLC+ in action or have a creative story to share, we’d love to hear about it. Reach out on our forums or tag us on social media with @qlcplus.
Thank you to our incredible community for making moments like these possible. Together, we’re lighting up stages, screens, and everything in between!
